Abies canadensis

In leucorrhoea, prolapsus uteri, prolapsus ani, diarrhoea, gangrene, and in aphthous and other oral ulcerations (bark); pleurisy orchitis from mumps, peritonitis, and all inflammations caused by cold, to all sprains and bruises and to lumbago, rheumatism and sciatica, in herpes, moist eczema, fevers and psoriasis (oil)

Achillea millefolium

For various maladies of the major organs and systems throughout the body, abscesses, atony, backache, hemorrhages (including those of the lungs), bruises, burns, cancer, colic, common cold, condyloma, cough, as a depurative agent, in fever,hypertension, menorrhagia, amenorrhoea, haemorrhoids with bloody discharge, atonic gastric and intestinal dyspepsia and leucorrhoea.

Achyranthes bidentata

In the treatment of aching back and knees and pain of the lower limbs (roots); to treat hypertension, back pains, urine in the blood, menstrual pain, bleeding, lowers blood cholesterol levels and so is used in the treatment of atherosclerosis(herb); toothache, indigestion and asthma (root juice); for pyorrhoea (stem)

Altingia excelsa

Leucoderma and scabies (resin); It is useful in itching, lumbago, menorrhagia and early stages of hydrocele and also for increasing the secretion of gastric juices.

Andropogon virginicus

In the treatment of backaches (root); for diarrhoea, as a wash for frostbite, sores, itching, piles and poison ivy rash (leaves)

Anemarrhena asphodeloides

For fevers accompanied with dryness in the lungs, stomach or kidneys, ulcers, cancer, childbirth, cough, diabetes, dysentery, fever, hyperglycemia, inflammation, lumbago, morning sickness, osteosis, pneumonia, scarlet fever, spermatorrhea, tuberculosis, typhoid, typhus, vertigo.

Anemone canadensis

To treat pain in the lumbar region, as an eye wash to treat crossed eyes, twitches and eye poisoning, for headaches and dizziness, to clear the throat (root); to wounds, nosebleeds and sores and as a wash for eye sores (roots and leaves).

Brassica juncea

Folk remedy for arthritis, foot ache, lumbago, and rheumatism. Tumours, abscesses, colds, lumbago, rheumatism, and stomach disorders (seed); skin eruptions and ulcers (mustard oil); for headache (leaves).

Citrus grandis

In chorea and epilepsy (leaf); ulcers and swellings (leaf decoction); discomfort in the abdominal area and edema (fruit); severe cough (rind and leaf); indigestion (rind); lumbago (seed).

Citrus reticulata

Cornus officinalis

For(lower) back pain, asthma and allergies

Dipsacus japonicus

In the treatment of rheumatoid arthralgia, traumatic injuries, backache and weak knees, seminal emissions, polyuria and also to secure abortions (root)

Fagopyrum dibotrys

In the treatment of traumatic injuries, lumbago, menstrual irregularities, purulent infections, snake and insect bites (decoction); insect bites, dysmenorrhoea, inflammation, lumbago, snakebite and traumatic injuries (root); in stomach disorders (grains).

Ficus benghalensis

For lumbago, rheumatism, external pains, sores and ulcers, soles of the feet when cracked or inflamed and toothache (latex); in diarrhea and dysentery (bark and young bud infusion); as a poultice in abscesses (heated leaves); in diabetes (bark); as a tonic (bark and seed); in vomiting, to scalp to grow hair long (paste) and for menorrhagia (root); in gonorrhoea (root-fibres); is good tonic, effective in diabetes, dysentery, gonorrhoea and in seminal weakness (infusion of bark).

Indigofera tinctoria

Epilepsy, lumbago, asthma, leucoderma, hemorrhoids and enlargement of the liver and spleen (plant); in damage to the liver (alcohol extract from plant); convulsions in infants, hysteria, chorea and amenorrhea.

Juglans regia

In scrofula, syphilis, eczema and herpes (bark and leaf); rheumatism (fruit); as a vermifuge, laxative and in skin diseases (fruit oil); in dysentery and colic (kernel); to treat constipation, chronic coughs, asthma, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, skin ailments and purify the blood; coughs and vertigo (male inflorescences); in the treatment of diarrhoea and anaemia, low back pain, frequent urination, weakness of both legs, chronic cough, asthma, constipation due to dryness or anaemia and stones in the urinary tract, as a poultice to areas of dermatitis and eczema (rind); menstrual problems and dry skin conditions (seed oil); in the treatment of cancer (cotyledons).

Kydia calycina

In rheumatism, lumbago, body aches and skin diseases and lowers blood pressure (leaf). Leaves are chewed when there is a deficiency of saliva; to treat boils, diabetes and rheumatism (bark).

Ligustrum lucidum

For rheumatism (berries); for promoting perspiration (decoction of bark and leaf); nonlymphatic leukaemia, stimulate the immune system, reduce inflammation, may have beneficial effects on the liver, menopausal problems (especially premature menopause), blurred vision, cataracts, tinnitus, rheumatic pains, palpitations, backache and insomnia (fruit)

Pinus roxburghii

In lumbago, rheumatism, in chronic bronchitis, neuralgia, arthritis, skin complaints, wounds, sores, burns, boils etc and is used in the form of liniment plasters, poultices, herbal steam baths and inhalers (oil).

Pongamia pinnata

As a tonic (seed) and in hemorrhoids (stem bark); chronic fevers, rheumatism, lumbago, herpes, scabies, leucoderma and other skin diseases, flatulence, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, cough, leprosy and gonorrhoea (plant); on the head to heal ulcers and cure dandruff (leaf paste); used for cleaning sores, as well as for cleaning teeth and strengthening gums (root juice).

Prunus cerasoides

The juice of the bark can be applied externally to treat backaches.In small amounts this stimulates respiration, improves digestion and gives a sense of well-being.

For treating burns and back pain (leaves)

Schleichera oleosa

Stimulating the growth of hair (kernel oil). The bark is astringent and antipyretic, used to relieve itching, back pain, inflammations and ulcers. Also used to treat pruritus, adenitis, ripening boils, notalgia, arthralgia, malaria. Seed oil is used to treat pruritus, acne, dermatosis, ulcers, cephalgia, trichopathy.

Veronicastrum virginicum

For intestinal atony, especially duodenal atony associated with hepatic torpor, in the treatment of diarrhoea, coughs, chills and fevers, and also to ease the pain of backaches.

Vetiveria zizanioides

In stomach ulcers, increasing the secretion of gastric juices, as an astringent and in quenching thirst (root); in colic, vomiting and as a linimint (for lumbago, rheumatism and sprains) (root oil)to treat fainting, indigestion, thirst, diarrhoea, diseases of heart, cough, hiccough, respiratory diseases, difficult micturition, fever with burning sensation morbid thirst, and skin diseases.

Xanthium strumarium

In leucoderma, epilepsy, in chronic malaria, leucorrhoea and urinary diseases (plant); in smallpox, in cancer and scrofula (root); on ulcers, boils and abscesses (root extract); in the treatment of rheumatism, diseased kidneys and tuberculosis (plant infusion); allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, catarrh, rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, constipation, diarrhoea, lumbago, leprosy and pruritis (fruits)
